The second brilliant album from these a cappella masters once again demonstrates why they are one of the finest Mbube groups in South Africa. Strongly influenced by the Is'cathamiya style, their unique sound is created by adding township vibes, some "bandit" music and strong gospel influences. Harmonious, pleasurable and captivating, it's a real treat. Classics like "Lion Sleeps No More" and "Shosholoza" as you've never heard them before.
AMARYONI is usually a specialist a capella group, in the mbube tradition, but they've decided to step outside their normal genre to deliver this album - a reinterpretation of the music of two gifted South African composers. Here they have used full instrumentation - all in the name of African blues.
